Ric McClure

Ric McClure began his association with Valley Chamber Orchestra (originally under the name of Eurydice Community Orchestra of Roanoke) in Oct 1997, first serving as principal trumpet, later as Board member and President, and finally as Music Director and Conductor from 2007-2017.  He was featured in the orchestra’s May 1998 performance of Vivaldi’s Concerto in C Major for Two Trumpets, Fasch’s Trumpet Concerto in D Major in May 2002, and Bach’s Brandenburg Concerto No. 2 in Sept 2004.

After earning a Masters Degree in Music with additional post graduate study in conducting, Ric spent the earlier part of his career as a Church Music Director in Oklahoma and Texas.  During that time he also performed on the trumpet with the Oklahoma City Symphony and Abilene Philharmonic.  In 1987 Ric moved to the Roanoke area where he currently serves as Music Director for South Roanoke United Methodist Church

In his free time Ric enjoys landscaping and playing trumpet for local theatre productions.
