Over the course of six or more decades since originally beginning to play cello, Letty Collins has had long periods of time with limited or no playing opportunities. But the call of the music would not give up. In 2008 she picked up her bow again when she began playing with the Bedford Community Orchestra, three years before joining VCO’s cello section in the fall of 2011.
Now retired from her career, Letty makes valuable use of her accounting skills by donating her time preparing tax returns for senior citizens and others with low to middle income. In addition, she stays active serving as treasurer of her Quaker Meeting and helping her husband maintain their home and property.
Letty loves to exercise and to travel and, since 2009, has made two trips to Afghanistan as an audit consultant.
